Happy 3rd Birthday Reags!

I was honored to be able to attend one of my favorite little girl's birthday party today. Reagan will be 3 this Monday, March 3rd. I cannot believe that time has flown by so fast. It seems like yesterday that Sarah was pregnant with her! Reags and her sister Paige mean the world to me! My relationship with their mom is one of my greatest gifts in life. Every time I get to spend with them I do. Reags is at such a fun age and she is so full of life and love. She is absolutely beautiful and smart!!!

I am told that the Disney princesses are the cool things for the young ladies these days. And since Reags is the "coolest" she had Snow White at her party. All of the kids were in awe. It was so cute to watch. Snow white is quite talented. She sings, paints faces and does a little magic. No wonder they couldn't keep their eyes off of her.

I look forward to watching the girls grow for years to come. Here is a self pic of Reags and I...

I love you little one!

More pics requested!

My best friend Sarah asked that I include more pics in my blogs. SO here are a couple from Bailey Boots' 3rd Birthday party. It was a hat theme! Happy Birthday Bailey Boots!
Brenda and her birthday girl, Bailey.
Look at the Hat cake!!

Sarah, Paige and IMe and Paigers. She puts my eyes to shame! Look at her baby blues! Isn't she darling?
I know Sarah didn't mean for me to put more pics of US up but they were the most updated I have! I promise Sar, I will be better at taking more pics to include in my postings!

SLC, Utah

I have spent the majority of the last two weeks in Utah working on one of the store's relocation. I will be here all next week also! I actually really enjoy being in Utah and am looking forward to all of the upcoming festivities. I have had really good luck when I am here and usually get upgraded. One of the perks of my job is that I get to keep all of my air miles, hotel and rental car points. It has added up fast since I travel so much. Last week my rental car, usually a Chevy Cobalt, was upgraded to an Infiniti SUV. It brought back memories of my old Infiniti coupe that I miss so much! The SUV was even the same color! And this week I was given a suite, this is the fourth time I have gotten a suite, with an amazing jacuzzi bath tub. I have been in Heaven! It helps me decompose! I just wish I had John here to help me enjoy the upgrades!

*** at this exact moment, its almost midnight in Utah, I had milk and cookies delivered...FREE! One of the girls that works in handbags boyfriend works the late shift at the hotel and she asked him to bring me dessert! How cute is that?***

It is hard being away from home at times but the little things like this make it worth it! I am so lucky to have a job that I LOVE in this economy! You won't hear any complaints from me :)

oh so random

I mentioned that I just joined facebook and I am definitely trying to get used to it. Well there is this thing that you are supposed to put in your notes section called 25 random things BUT you are supposed to be tagged to do it. I think it looks like fun and being the newbie I have not been tagged and I follow the rules. SO until I can join in the fun on facebook I am going to do it on my blog. I make the rules on my page. Haha.

  1. I am extremely confidant in all areas of my life except with men...now you all understand why I did the things I did.
  2. I have a weird thing about meat...the bones and fat freak me out. I am very picky about what meat I eat.
  3. I want to have babies but am deathly afraid of being pregnant.
  4. I am extremely anal retentive and clean at work BUT not at home.
  5. I HATE cleaning and I seem to be missing the domestic gene.
  6. I check gossip sites daily and read all the weeklies when they first come out.
  7. I get utterly disappointed when US weekly isn't in the stores on Thursday. I feel like I am way behind if I can't get it til Friday. I know its a sickness.
  8. I don't judge any one's relationship because I don't want anyone to judge mine. Only people in relationships know what is there and why it works.
  9. My long time friend accidentally threw a rock at my head when I was 5. I still have the scar.
  10. I honestly thought that I would be married with a kid at the age that I am now.
  11. 90% of my friends are married with children, married, have children or engaged.
  12. I have been in 6 weddings.
  13. I cry pretty much every time I watch the biggest loser.
  14. I love writing: cards, notes and on my blog.
  15. If I had the $$$ I could buy shoes every time I am in Nordy's...and that is 5x a week!
  16. I get just as much pleasure if not more in buying something for someone else as I do buying for myself!
  17. I am extremely emotional and sensitive. My BF says he has never seen someone who cries as much as I do!
  18. I actually don't like going to Vegas, I am not much of a partier.
  19. I read the same books over and over. They are not intellectual books either!
  20. My sisters and I only really started to get along after we had moved out of the house.
  21. I have a fascination with Jessica Simpson and Kim Kardashian
  22. I can't wait to own a home and decorate every room in a different style!
  23. I could spend every Sunday in my Pj's on the couch reading blogs and I get excited when I find someone else I know who has a blog page!
  24. I hate working out but do it because I know I have to even when I don't see results.
  25. My BF is the complete opposite of me and I learn something new about him on a daily basis.

So there you have it! This is part of my Six on Sundays...you got 25!!!

the latest...

Obsession...is HATS!!!

I have found a serious love for all types of hats right now!! I have recently purchased a couple fedoras, a beret and I have my eye on a Juicy Couture floppy hat in straw and black! They are so darling!! There are a couple things that are attributed to my new obsession. The first being is that my hair is LONG...finally! It looks really good when I curl it and hats bring attention to this area. The second thing is that I am incredibly lazy on my days off so I tend to braid, or re curl my hair so I don't spend hours getting ready. I am going to show you what I have been wearing these days using some of my favorite fashionistas.

The Beret/"Beanie"
This is probably the easiest look to pull off. The beret is traditionally worn on top of the head covering the hairline. But by pulling it back and making your hair the focal point you pull off the polished without trying look.

The Fedora

The fedora was traditionally a menswear look that women have put a twist on and made their own! This hat needs to be worn at a slight tilt. Straw is a more casual look but felt and wool can be very sophisticated.

The Newsboy Cap

The newsboy has been fashionable forever!! It is super easy to wear and looks great with your hair in a low ponytail, chignon or braid. I bought my first newsboy in 05 and I still wear it today!

The Floppy

The floppy hat reminds me of two things, the Kentucky Derby and laying out by the pool drinking a martini and wearing fabulous heels. This look is so chic and FUN!!! I plan to wear my hat at the beach or pool!

In my current job I have always worked in the Accessory division and could not see myself anywhere else. I used to think that clothes were my passion until I was introduced to the versatility of accessories. There is absolutely no better way to update an outfit. You can change the look of what you own with one piece and it is usually not super expensive. When you look through fashion magazines and walk through retail stores and boutiques you find the importance of a scarf, belt: large or skinny, high or low slung, sunglasses, large earrings, a statement necklace, a fun ring or an INCREDIBLE handbag. Shoes can also make or break an outfit! I love it all and I enjoy sharing my opinion!! Happy Shopping!

Celebrity News

I have an overwhelming fascination with celebrity's and their world. I buy all of the weekly mags and know way too much information!!! So knowing that I have to comment on two stories that have had quite a bit of press...

Jessica Simpson and her "weight" issue!
OMG, even if Jessica Simpson was NOT my favorite I would still say what I have to say. Jessica is not fat, she is a beautiful, smaller than any normal woman and had a bad outfit day! Geez people!! I mentioned that high waisted pants are very hard to wear and I think that she proved that to everyone! Then she added a double belt...anyone with SKIN would have a roll!!! I think that this whole controversy sends an awful message to girls and women. It is incredible to me that she got so much press and that it was from credible sources. If you have seen any pictures of her a couple of days after the "incident" you would think that she looks like her normal self!!!

Rhianna and Chris Brown
I was shocked when I heard this story and have been glued to my gossip sites and morning radio show listening for clues and updates to this situation. TMZ released the picture of her from the cops and she looks f***ed up!!! These two are so young, both younger than my baby sis and have gone through a tragic ordeal. Many people are saying that she must have done something to provoke him...and I think that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. It is NEVER OK to hit a woman, provoked or not. There is no excuse for what happened to her. I am on the Chris Brown boycott and I think that he needs to be prosecuted. Celebrities are not above the law and should be treated like the woman abuser that he is!!!

OK, I feel better getting those off of my chest! Let me know your thoughts on the matter!

Not in the mood!

I have not been in the mood to blog at all. It is just pure laziness on my part. But I have been keeping up on everyone else's!

Here is what I have been up to in the last couple of weeks:
  1. I got over my awful cold.
  2. I joined facebook. I know, I know I don't need another website to obsess on but I am glad I joined because I found so many friends that I lost contact with and we reconnected.
  3. Helped with an awesome Fashion Show for work.
  4. I am still training and trying to fit exercise into my very busy schedule!! It is hard to do.
  5. I have been cooking more. Fast and easy recipes are always welcome!!

Nothing else too exciting. The next two weeks I will be spending a ton of time in Utah. I do have a couple posts that I have started and will finish, they will be post dated so look for those!

I hope all is well in my fellow blogger's worlds!!

Love is in the air

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's day is THE holiday for romantics like me. I know that we should share our love everyday and it is a Hallmark Holiday BLAH, BlAh, bLaH!! I love having a day that is set aside JUST for love. John and I had our best valentines ever and much to my chagrin it wasn't planned and very spontaneous... I am a type A planner so you can see where this would throw me off!! We woke up late, which is very usual for us..haha, and decided that we wanted to go somewhere. Anywhere. At first we were going to drive to Malibu but then we decided to go to Venice since I had never been there AND there is a lot more action. We headed over there and it was beautiful out. We kept hearing it was going to rain which is what ruined my plan for the day!! There were a lot of people down there and right away I went to town shopping and getting little trinkets! I got amazing earrings and a "Mandy" necklace charm along with a couple of hats. I was a happy girl. We then met up with one of John's friends and we went to watch the sunset and take pics! It was incredible.

Look at the sun peaking through! God is always there smiling!!!

It got SUPER cold so John and I decided to head home, stop at the grocery store and pick up food to make dinner together! John has been loving meatloaf lately so I decided to make meat loaf, mashed potatoes, salad, broccoli and brownies for dessert. I didn't want him to help me, it was my gift to him. I know, I know I am such a 1950's housewife...haha. We had a nice dinner, snuggled on the couch and then I actually passed out...ooops!

It was a beautiful day and I will treasure it always!!!

Happy Birthday Baby!

Dearest Johnny,

This is the fourth birthday that we have celebrated together and I continue to love you more as time passes. No one has challenged me, supported me or been there for me in the ways that you have. You make me a better and stronger woman and I will be forever grateful for that. Your intelligence astounds me and your drive to be better in a world that has not been so nice to you is impressive. No relationship is easy, and ours isn't either. But what we have is real. I hope that this is the year that all of your dreams come true!!
I love you!

I'm sicky poo!

Yuck! I have the worst cold EVER!!! I have the gnarliest sinus headache, I cannot breathe and I can't stop sneezing. The only plus side to this is that I have slept more in the last two days than I have in the last six months. AND I called out from work. I hardly EVER do that. I felt so guilty that I tried to work from home but the computer made me dizzy! Sad! I hope I can breathe again soon...

SUPERBOWL!

For my six on Sunday post I would like to pay homage to FOOTBALL!

Why I L-O-V-E football
  1. The men: Football players have my ideal body type that I look for in a man, big and brawny! I am not a small girl and I love men that are bigger than me. Blame it on my high school days. I do want to clarify that I love the body but I do NOT love meat heads!!! Not all football players are meat heads but there are a lot of "jocks" that can definitely be called that!
  2. Social gatherings: Sports tend to bring people together and give a reason to hang out. I love being able to be with friends or family, talking and enjoying friendly "team rivalries".
  3. Food: I don't know why certain foods just taste better when a sporting event is involved. But I love the snacks, hot dogs and a good ole' beer!!
  4. The game: Football is a game that a lot going on AND I actually understand it! Football has a lot of action and it is a true TEAM sport. It is fun to watch and be a part of. Some of my best memories are from the high school football games. I was always sad that I chose a college that did not have a football team. I wish I could have been apart of that kind of energy.
  5. Tom Brady and Matt Leinart: I had to include them because they are so effing hot!!! I could stare at them all day. And they look even better on a big screen. Love them!
  6. Powder Puff: My understanding of the game came from my HS powder puff games Junior and Senior year. I was actually GOOD and played on defense!! In college we had sorority tournaments that were always very intense. It was a sport that taught me the game and that I excelled in which was a plus! I would play now if I could. :)

The Superbowl game was very exciting. I was really hoping the cardinals would win, Matt Leinart is on that team, but it didn't happen. I was just glad to watch a game that was BORING!!!
